Nslds Batch Monitoring Extract

This batch job provides the ability to generate an extract file to send to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) to monitor transfer students. The user provides the Year-Session, Tracking Code, and optionally a Notify-Date range (primarily for re-sending). Tracking records will be selected based on these job scheduling parameter values.

How the BEGinning and ENDing Notify-Date parameters work:

a. BEG & END parms left blank {default} = select only Tracking records with a blank Notify-Date (aka: not yet sent).

b. BEG & END parms both entered = select Tracking records with a Notify-Date within that range (you can enter the same date in both BEG & END parms to re-send a particular day's records).

c. BEG parm entered, END parm left blank = select Tracking records with a Notify-Date greater than or equal to the specified beg date.

d. BEG parm left blank, END parm entered = select Tracking records with a Notify-Date less than or equal to the specified end date (includes Track Details with a blank Notify-Date). Note: To exclude blank Notify-Dates, while still selecting from the beginning-of-time, specify "00000000" as the beg parm.

For each qualifying Track Detail, a record will be formatted and written to the SM9702S extract file, and the Track Detail's Notify-Date will be updated with "today's" date. The user can then use the menu process SM9703 to download SM9702S to the user's PC.

Within the SM9702S extract file, the Monitor Begin Date and Enrollment Begin Date fields will be set based on the MONTR-REQ and ENRL-REQ job scheduling parameters (see below).

This job can be run up to 99 times in any single day. The run date and count of records extracted is displayed on the CIS/NSL Processing Table in FAM.
