Create Random Sample File

This job will create a random sample survey file from a new or existing Survey Population File. If option 1 is chosen (SR4902-OPT = 1), this job will check to see if the colleges' have sent their Survey Extract Files and print a report showing the status of each college's file. If option 2 is chosen, this job will merge the colleges' Survey Extract Files into a Survey Population File and extract a Random Sample Survey File from the Population File. Option 2 will also print the file status report and the excluded students report. If option 3 is chosen, this job will extract a Random Sample Survey File from an existing Survey Population File. To create the Random Sample Survey File the Survey Population file is sorted and the specified sample number of records are extracted for each sample (ethnic origin) group.

POP-FILEID Enter the file ID (3 digits) of the Survey Population File.
SR4902-OPT Enter the SR4902 processing option: 1 = Print merge status report only 2 = Print merge status report, merge and create survey population file, and create random survey file 3 = Create random sample survey file from an existing survey population file
SUR-FILEID Enter the file ID (3 digits) of the Random Sample Survey File. It should be the same name of Survey Population File for tracking purposes.
SURVEY-DESC Enter the survey title or description. This information will be printed in the report heading for documentation purposes.
