Security Recommendations: 1. The two servers (web server, HP3000) should be on the same subnet. If the two servers are not on the same subnet, the traffic should not traverse an insecure network (i.e. Library, Student Lab). 2. The web server should not be exposed to the Internet. 3. The web server and database server should be "fully hardened". The college server administrator will understand this term as meaning the following: The servers have been secured and include all current service packs and patches. 4. Data handling on the web server should be carefully managed to prevent inappropriate information disclosure or incorrect usage of the data. 5. Review your Security Policies with your college Security Administrator. |
